Any of you guys seen that manik skid plate? I was thinking of getting that to protect the black coated license plate area from flying rock chips. I just wondered if it will fit with the factory cattle-pusher (brushguard). Any one installed one yet or know?

I recall seeing somewhere that this only fits with the Manik brushguard...

yea, i read that one place, but then I am wondering why its sold seperately. I mean it kinda looks like it would fit... just wondering if anyone tried, or got it to work. It's a good idea, to have a piece of stainless up rather than painted black steel that will rust with stonechips.

Since there was no link and I couldn't find it on http://www.manik.com/ I will tell you the skid plate for the H2 did attach to the lower portion of the brushguard. They're sold individually because some people don't want the skid plate and the brush guard together.

I just saw one at the dealership this morning. It does look nice and feels sturdy enough. I didn't really look to see how it attaches though. When I go back to pick up my truck I'll take another look at it.

well heres a photo I found. I was just thinking you could detach the factory brush guard, pop on the manik skid plate, and then tighten it back on. Maybe have to do a tad of customization to the stainless (get it cut) to possibly fit better.

Ok, I looked at it again. Still not sure how it attaches.
There's two bolt holes on the rolled part above the slots. But the part in the picture that looks like it goes behind the tow hooks wasn't on the display.

I have one that I decided to take off. It attaches to the two license plate holes in front and the 2 front bolts on the front of the hummer factory skid plate. It makes doing an oil change even more time consuming since this plate must come off also.

even that is in the way while changing the oil??? whoa. hummer3 you think it will fit under the factory brushguard? its my bday and i just gotta lil bday money on which to spend. I hardly put any miles on my H3, so I prob would only have to take that off 2-3 times a year. I think it looks cooler than the black as well....
