Wiring brake controller for 2008+ H2
Pulled my controller and harness from my 2006 that was just traded in on the 2008..... The 2008+ no longer utilize a harness, there is a bundle of blunt end wires near the data port under the dash to connect the brake controller up to. I have this part figured out but there are 2 under hood fuses (I believe number 54 and 59) which handle charging/lighting of trailer batteries and the other is for the trailer brakes. I have no problem purchasing the fuse/relay to plug into the under hood fuse panel but I have read some conflicting stories regarding having to hook up more wiring under the hood...... anyone install a controller in a 2008+ and have the low down for me.
Thanks
Mike

Re: Wiring brake controller for 2008+ H2
Thanks twr...... great link on the write up.
It feels naked driving the new truck without all of my extras in it (need my controller installed to move one of our trailers this weekend that has electric brakes) such as my sub/amp, ipod integration (I just installed the peripherral isimple interface which works flawlessly) and HID lighting. We also had a body colored rigid spare tire cover on our old rig, it really cleans up the look of the back end. By the weekend I should have my new harness for my PAC amplifier interface and the tire cover, by the end of the weekend I should have the new rig outfitted with all the necessary items.

That is the same unit I installed (peripherral/iSimple PXAMG=upac-gm29)..... Peripherral and PAC have merged, when I called their tech department to get a new vehicle specific harness for my A0EM amp interface I asked which unit was better since both were on the website..... the tech replied they are the same, different product badging for different vendors.
I had the Nucleus in my 2006 which gave control of the ipod from the Navi touch screen, I know it had a bad rap since it would occasionally make the warning chimes go off as well as illuminated the instrument clusters "dummy" lights. This new unit coupled with the 2008+ navi unit is amazing as I feel it gives way more user friendly control as far as navigating through the playlists, artists etc.... along with being able to fully contron from the steering wheel controls. I also like the fact you can retain your XM as well as add HD radio should you choose. Your friend will love this thing after you get it installed in his truck

Re: Wiring brake controller for 2008+ H2
Hi thanks, i didn't know they merged. Also from what you said about how it works, sounds just like what he wanted for his truck.
