Default Re: wheel balance

The 2-pc steel wheels do have an inherent roundness issues. No amount of balancing will make an out-of-round wheel or tire run smoothly. (The 1-pc steel wheels have a far worse roundness issue). As tires wear, they will change balance slightly. Dynamic balancers are a big help! Dynamic balancers will also help with fine tuning the balance of the tires and wheels if the shop didn't get it quite perfect.
The Balance Master?s contain Mercury and claim to be able to offset a slightly higher amount of imbalance.
The Centramatic makes a soft shoofing sound at low speed and require a (free) spacer when used with the 2-pc steel wheels.

Some of the instructions say to remove all weights and allow the balancer to do it all but I recommend not removing the weights. My preference is the Balance Master. Hope this helps make the decision.

I have the balance masters on my H2 with 37" tires. I did not balance them when they were mounted as Balance Masters suggested.

I am pleased with the results!
