Re: Tent on a GOBI
I have a gobi and a tent cot. Yes you could tie the cot down to the gobi and it would work. I wouldnt drive around with it up there and would make sure its tied down well before i slept in it because the tent cot does seesaw when you shift to much weight on one side. Heres a better way to sleep, lay down your seats and blow up an air mattress, a twin fits perfectly.

Re: Tent on a GOBI
Hi
I have on of the roof tents that are designed to be put on the roof, they are a bit more pricey, but they are also of a different quality.
You could look into importing one directly from africa, they have a different price tag down there.
I did have to modify the Gobi to have the tent fit, but it's a nice add on
Here is a picture

Re: Tent on a GOBI
Yep the front end of the Gobi had to go ....
I have just been looking for some front end pictures with the tent folded down, but I don't have any. And the Gobi is not on the truck at the moment.
The Hummer won't fit in the parking area of my company with the Gobi on, so when working it has to come off.
But it really dosn't look bad from the front end, the tent looks very impressive up there and the front of the tent looks good too.

I guess I would have opt'd for teh additional support bars to add the roof top tent.
