Anyone have any pics of polished skid plate installed? I am wondering if it would really make much difference. Thanks.

Looks great.

Can you post a wide picture of the front of the car with the skid plate?

If anybody has done this "mod" I would really like to see it since I dinged the lower part prety bad last week on the first cherry popping off road experience. You cant see the ding unless you get under the front. I know others would like to see the installed application. Thanks.

What would be the normal turn-around time if the skid plate was dropped off at your location in West Palm Beach? Or, do you offer that service?

Thanks, Ed

Bright-Lee mine is still as shiny as the day I got it!
I just treat it like the painted surfaces. Wash it with high quality car wash and rinse it then towel dry it. Nothing Special - Looks great! I get alot of great comments on it! Thanks Again for the Great Job and quick turnaround! Taking it off and puting it on is a 10 min. job tops.

Don't hesitate to let BRIGHT-LEE work his magic on your SKID PLATE - You will not be sorry!!!!

Is the polished plate clear coated or protected in any way? I'm just wondering about long-term oxidation. Un-coated aluminum will ozidize to a dull grey-white layer.

What you say is true if you don't maintain it. I polish parts on high end performance vehicles and have personally seen that raw aluminum can and does manitain without oxidation with simple care. Maintaince is easy with "X-Treem Metal Polish" and sealer. Anodizing prices will be available soon for those don't mind loosing some of the shine in name of protection and no maintaince and the extra cost. It also would give the option of colorizing the skid plate.

P.S. Daily driving on Daytona Beach will require extra maintaince I carry "X-Treem" if you have a problem finding it.

I can't help but add that when aluminum is clear coated with laquer, apoxy, etc. it will fade and chip and a "touch-up" would require an entire restoration. Chaching$$$$$ Anodizing is the better choice for aluminum. Most people prefer the shine of the polish but some prefer the protection instead of the mirror finish.

Everything you say regarding loss of gloss (clarity), maintenance, having to strip and re-coat, etc is perfectly true. I was just curious because it hadn't been mentioned and many people would not realize that the finish requires maintenance.
I was taught how to polish gold many years ago and have polished fuel tanks on a race rig so I know what the maintenance is like!
As for anodizing, JMO, but it looks like crap as soon as it starts to get scratched and dinged up. I'm mainly talking about colored anodized finishes here. I'd avoid this on anything but a show vehicle. At least with the plain polished finish you can touch it up!
Thanks for your info!
