Default Instantaneous Fuel Economy

I was going through the service manual (trying to track my A/C leak) and noticed that the truck has Instantaneous Fuel Economy display. For the life of me I can not find it. I have the average, time, fuel used, etc... but NO Instantaneous Fuel Economy. Was this year specific? Mine is a 05.

i dont know of that display but if you look at the Average MPG and hold the reset button it will tell you your current mpg.

Should be in there as I do not believe they changed anything from the '03 -'05. I could be wrong though, but it should be in there in the same section as the average fuel economy when hitting the button with the little gas pump on it.

I had this in an 03 but not in my 05. I asked the dealer and they said they took it out after 03 because people were complaining about seeing 1 mpg when they floored it. So they just made it avg to ease the critics.

I guess its just like the cabin air filters. Earlier models have it and older ones don't. Funny, never thought about the customers complaining about the 1 MPG

Seems like 05 they did away with it. I wonder if the 08+ models have it.

Yep, that feature was discontinued on the last few late production 04s, never to be seen again. There's a short blurb on this in the model differences link online. I was also told by my dealer in 06 they upgraded the logic in the mpg computer to give slightly better mpgs and many called it the lie-o-meter in 06 and on. When I took the tour through the plant in Mishawaka, an engineer confirmed that for me. In the old days if you had an H2 they treated you like royalty on that plant tour.

My 2008 H2 does not have this. I just push the clear button when it is displaying avg and get a snapshot of it.

Not trying to be rude, but you know this is a 2.5 year old dead thread?
