Aaaaaargh
Bent my left rear fender last night coming out of the hospital parking lot against a stone/steel stopper-thing. Split the license plate in half I was too sleepy and should not have hurried but also the area was poorly lit and of a strange design (a wheel-like parking area where you park along the spokes and the middle is lined with concrete-steel things.
Dealer or local body shop? Thanks.

Pictures of the carnage please.
No clue on dealer or body shop...the right answer is it probably depends on who does better work and their prices. Sorry not to be helpful.

Yeah, I figured someone would want to enjoy my suffering... sure, I'll post some pictures later. With regards to the fixing, I was wondering whether the H3 being a new vehicle would make a difference as to body shop vs. dealer.

It sounds like you are talking about the base of the fender that is next to the bumper. The fenders can't really bend, they are plastic. But the bottom is a rubberized plastic.
If you remove that piece, there is a bracket inside that can be easily straightened. You can pop out the caps in the back, inside there is a bolt. Remove the inner fender well, and you will see how it attaches inside. Some gentle bending with some pliers will straighten it out.
I did the same thing when I was in the ravine in Hollister and fixed it no problem. You will also notice that you rear tailgate opens with some noise.

Ok, I think I can fix/replace it. I love this truck cuz all my erector set/lego skills can now be put to good use. Anyways, I see a parts stickers on the fender with identifying number. Can I just order that from GM?
If so (what's the URL?), all I need to do is remove the little steel rescue hook-thing and I can remove the whole fender, no problem. Looks like I have to take the hook apart to get to the 2 bolts that connect it to the fender though. The bolt that holds it together is huge!! Guess, I'll look on line to see if there is a head for my Gator grip that will fit that bolt.

Here you go smart A$$. Notice the fender is off and the bumper is still on. The rear fenders come from GM with the clips on. No need to remove the bumper.

Are you talking about the bumper or the fender?
