I got asked the most stupid question today. A guy stopped me in a parking lot and remarked that my rig looked great. He asked how much of a lift kit I had on it. I told him that it had a 6" lift kit. Now...the key part of my answer was " 6 inch lift kit ". Now, here is the STUPID question. So he asked "So, what, that raises it up about 4"'s right?"

After I digested the question I asked him where the short bus was that dropped him off. He was pissed but I dont care. What a moron! Told me I was nothing but a rich *******. At least he got the second part right.

Curious to see what other Stupid H2 questions there are out there.

Does that truck really weigh 8500 lbs?
Did that really cost 100k.
Do you think my son would like one for a graduation present? (Coming from a smelly, toothless, Vega driving, dirty cloths wearing woman)
I'll think of more, but all were asked in a sincere manner.

I had a guy roll up on his "little rascal" and ask me how I liked my H2. That was no big deal, until he commented that he was thinking about buying one. (I'm desperately trying not to laugh at this point, I was thinking his dog might be trained to eat people that laugh) My reply was, "Do you think you'll be able to climb in it?" He said he could probably do it, but then he wanted to know the million dollar question: "How much does one of these cost?" I swear its true!
I was in front of West Marine at the time.

That bugs me too when people ask how much they cost.

If it is a serious question I will tell them (a friend that is truly interested in buying one). Otherwise, my standard answer is "$22K-it was a demo." Then you can see the gears turn.

I like that response, Rifle. I think I'll have to try it out.

The standard question when I had mine was "Hey how much did that cost ya"

I did have a belittling experience in an Aston Martin dealers in South Florida once though - I was killing a bit of time - went in there to look at a V12 Vanquish - for a laugh - walked in and sat in the show room model - dressed in a pair of shorts and a T shirt.
This snotty looking English salesman walked over and asked me to get out of the car - I pointed into the parking lot and said "That happens to me my H2 out there"

He just sneered at me and replied "Sir the wheels on this car cost more than that did"

I left.

I got that "how much" question all the time too (together with "mpg?"). I'll tell them the numbers, and continue "but this is BY FAR the most fun car I've ever owned!" I'll tell them about John Bull, show them the battlescars on my paint, the crumpled exhaust under, the painted over deep gauges on both front and back bumpers... before you know it, most would say, "man, that does sound FUN! I gotta check it out at the dealers!"

Maybe that's why my wife said I should get a weekend job selling H2 at the dealers...

I enjoy the cost question when it's asked by some moron in an overpriced Range Rover or Benz. I tell them "$16,000 less than my husband's freakin' Escalade" and that shuts them up for a while, trying to figure that one out. After all, the Slade is just another Tahoe!

My fav dumb question: "Does it drive like a truck?" Nooooo....it drives just like a Maybach. Just heavier. And a LITTLE bit stiffer in the turns.

I had some punk ass kid who was working at a parts store, busting my balls on the frame of the Hummer H2, he was giving me a lot of **** about it. I told the little ass hole, that the Hummer H2 was on a 1966 VW BUS Frame. The guy standing next to me drop his case of oil on the floor, he then walk over to the door and looked out at the Hummer, he then said " I be damn!, Well I be go to hell, that looks as big as a VW BUS" I walk out of the store with a BIG SMILE, that was the best one I pull off yet.

I was filling up at the station once, and some guy and his wife pull up in an old yugo or something brownish/green...He asks me how I like the h2...I figured he was going to start throwing crap...but I tell him that I love it etc... Of course, he asks about price and gas mileage....Then he says, "I love that thing, of course my wife's a leaf-licker and she would kill me if she heard me say that." Definately threw me off guard....
