What good is a Hummer if you don't use it.
Well, I think that is what it's there for, to prevent it from getting inside. I pull mine off and wash them when I'm detailing the inside. They come off and go back on really easy. Just grab the front and pull. Gently of course.
After last weekend, there is sand everywhere in my truck. I still have sand on my hood panel. Sand, dust, etc. is going to find all the nooks and crannies, and there are plenty on the H3.

After wheeling out here in the desert, I have to use the brush attachment on the shop-vac and go over the whole interior of the car, especially the dash and controls. Then, I wipe it down with a wet cloth to get the rest of the dirt off. Finally, I can give it the low gloss Armor All treatement. It takes forever, but is well worth it. When the strips are Armor All treated, the sand comes off much easier.
good luck
