Exhaust Manifold - Expensive
Just had mine replaced under warranty to fix a rattle. Dealer told me the part was around $500 and labor was probably close to $300! Wow!

Re: Exhaust Manifold - Expensive
What was the rattle like? I have two currently, one rattle is my exhaust clamp, but the other one seems to be coming from the engine, in front of the center of the dash (as I sit driving). And happens as I'm letting the clutch out in first to get moving. I haven't got in there to look around yet, but I was thinking there was a heat shield around that manifold that was loose.

Re: Exhaust Manifold - Expensive
It sounded like a heat shield type rattle. From under the engine, couldn't tell if it was left or right side. Dealer said that they've seen a few, where the pipe moves and cracks a bit by some bolts (I dont know where he referred to) and finally you get a rattle.
Rattle was present when engine was under stress or under a load. Not when cruising/coasting. Hope that helps.
