Any idea why my OnStar isn't working? It doesn't come on at all.

Did the dealership activate it? That would be my first question.

Is it just the blue button that doesn't work or does it extend to the phone button as well?

I thought that even if your Onstar isn't activated, when you press the blue onstar button you'll still get a live advisor (or a recorded message stating something to the effect that you need to press the button again to talk to a customer rep). Then the advisor will try to sell you the service and walk you through the signup process.

So if nothing at all happens when you press any of the onstar butons, it may actually be a hardware problem.

Or maybe I'm completely off base?

You guys are on the right track. Both buttons are not working. I called the dealership and they activated it Saturday after I left the dealership.

So it seems it is a hardware problem...darn.

f5fstop just posted some bulletins, here is a possible one for you...

#05-08-46-001A OnStar Generation-6 (Digital) System Inoperative/Has No Power, LED Light Not On (Remove/Reinstall OnStar Fuse and Replace VCIM or Follow SI Diagnostics) - (Jan 4, 2006)

I'm not sure if everything is fixed before you can take it home or not...so maybe.
