Darn good question.
I was told (don't take this as gosphel truth) that they changed the program in the computer for 2005... and that not much else changed...
In the end it doesn't matter... I installed a Borla exhaust, supposedly good for 25HP.... I couldn't feel any change in the truck...
To feel major change.. well, you have to make major change.
I wouldn't worry if the 06 is "supposedly" down 9 HP... you'll never be able to feel it.
It's still got lots of scoot!

What should be considered is the hP delivered to each wheel. I do not remember the exact # but it seemed a bit low.

03 and 04 H2's were 316HP with 2005 they changed the program almost completely as the programmers had to run out and write new tuning software for the handhelds. HP went to 325. I'm assuming the 2006 will be 325.
While they were writing in a bunch of new stuff they decideed to change the air/fuel ratio and got 9 more HP. Same thing when We tune one and hook the PC to it and chnage all the air/Fuel ratios across the diff. RPM's etc.

What I want to know is why is the H2 6.0L rated at 325 and the Escalade 6.0L rated at 345?

the lade has some "inside" work done on the motor. I personally think the H2 should have it, or more too.

Different cam and valve timing on the Elade!
I have one with 345HP. Great motor.
Now Chevy if offering it in some of its last GMT800 pickups. The "Vortec Max"
