Default rear locker, should i get one?

I'm about to buy and H3 and I really want an adv model. My question is about the electronic rear locker. How much of a difference in the wheeling capability does it make? I'm heading up to Anchorage, Alaska when I get back from Iraq and I plan on doing a lot of exploring with my H3. I deff intend on doing the Truxx leveling kit and some M/T tires right off the rip and possible a winch. I'm really curious about the H3's wheeling capability and the difference the locker makes.

Thank you.

If you buy a 2009 you will also get a front locker. Go for it
You also get better shocks and the granny low gears.
I think you will need it where your going.

I'm thinking that I'm gonna have to get one with a locker.

get an 09 with the front and rear lockers!! Skip the leveling kit, get the cognito shocks and longer bumpstops from Trail Duty.

iv'e got the rear locker in my 08.i really only tried in snow.i slid off the road, and wasn't really impressed with it getting me out of the ditch.but, nothing really would of helped when you go sideway's.however were talking 26 inches of snow.i have a very steep driveway and found it really useful to backup the hill in snow.it worked great.in snow on hills,a head of steam sometimes is the best ticket,so the locker isn't much help.but i think the front and rear would really be cool in the mud or slow speed 4 x ing.iv'e driven 4x4's in snow and mud for 25 yrs and all in all the h3 is the best iv'e had without chains.

Go for the front and rear locker. I really regret not getting that on the H3.

Get the lockers, I don't have them and haven't needed them YET. But I'm sure going to wish that I had about the time I find that one mud hole. Think of them as insurance, especially where you are going.

I would rather have them and not need them, then need them and not have them.
