No ..these are light aluminum rails they would do nothing for rock protection... but then again; I'm not planning any utah trips. It works for me. The rims are 22x11 and the tires are 37x13.5 again very slight rub when full turn but not out to wheel this anytime in the furture.. maybe why i get older and the truck is paid off ill think about it.

They wire into the doors. When the doors open, they come down. I LOVE THEM....Had then since 2004....
You can get them for around $1k!!!
