Smile Windshield noise...no longer a problem!

Well they kept my 3 for a whole week! and I am glad to have my 3 back. I did get to drive an 07 silverado for a week which came in handy for moving furniture. I think they did a good job redesigning the truck for 07. Too bad my H3 doesnt have an engine like that. Lots of pull and pick up. But Of course it was thirsty for gas too.

So in a nutshell, here's what happened.

1. Windshield noise - they replaced warped A-pillars and roof rail. Feels solid. Not as wobbly as before. Test drove it to 80mph and no vibration...hope it stays that way.

2. Stability Control System Failure - they reprogrammed the TCM (transmission control module). But they added that if the stability system fails again they will replace the TCM.

3. Low tire pressure warning - they replaced a few of the TPM sensors.

4. Whine/Whistle noise on acceleration most prominent between 1900-2200 RPM. - They replaced the alternator and attributed the noise to bad alternator bearings. It worked. I was surprised. No more whine/whistle noise on accelration.

5. Passenger Heated seat light indicator not lighting up - they replaced that too. If you think you have the same problem, be sure to check it with seat belt fastened first. The heated seat only works when seat belt is "clicked" in.

Thanks again to all those who gave advice.

Hmmm3, I hope your windshield is still rattle free!

That's all great news, aslw! Congrats! So far, so good, on my H3's windshield noise. I drove it a short distance at 70mph () on the the 405 yesterday without ANY of that shattering sound. Keeping my fingers crossed that the new glued down A pillars made the difference.

Sure the dealer didn't program the TCCM (transfer case control module) or the EBCM (electronic brake control module)? TCM has no affect on stabilitrac, but the other two sure do.
