H3 sales off for January
H3 sales fell about 26% year over year in January 2007.
Was there a lack of supply, incentives, or...?

Re: H3 sales off for January
The vehilce has gotten mixed press and they do not talk much about incentives on Hummer advertising. The big complaint I had selling them is the marketing is clever but not hitting home the reason you want a Hummer. They also are still very late in product, 123 is not enough without any entry level vehicles or a certified used the dealerships are the ones who will suffer till the 4 and a new 2 come out.

Re: H3 sales off for January
Interesting.. I stopped by dealer today and I talked sales figures a bit with him.. He said his only problem is keeping inventory levels up.. They brought in 24 H3's that they bought form other dealers the first of last week to help get their inventory up some.. They only had 16 H3's left on the lot today and none under $36,000..
Half of their front lot was covered in Pontiacs from the sister dealership in the next building over.. He said they asked them to put them there so the lot would not look empty..

Re: H3 sales off for January
I'm shopping for one now, the problem i found was the sales man was not into selling to me at all i had to ask ALL the questions, he didnt offer any information on the product, tell me any incentives, didnt even offer a pamphlet, it was like i was bugging him.
i was in sales for a while, and thats not the way to sell anything
almost turned me off the truck

Kinda stands to reason sales are down, if you don't have the truck I'm looking for, I'm going to look elsewhere.

Re: H3 sales off for January
This time of year Dealers play it low becasue sales are slower and florrplan is very costly. Some dealers don't order right and as you see don't have product. Alot of boneheads in the Biz that is why someone with brains like me had to get out. Owners in touch with their customers are very rare.

We were down for a week at Christmas as usual, came back for a week, then had 6 days off for some work in the plant. Days in the field were lower than they would like them to be, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. The down time will probably benefit all the trucks and H3's built at Shreveport, down the road.

Re: H3 sales off for January
Yay us!
I was assuming the x-mas break....but inventory is kinda low.
It's hard to drive sales when the pickins are slim.....but I know the tactic well
