driving around on our snow and ice covered roads i've had the opportunity to utilize the abs brakes and the stabilitrak. i've got to say i'm very impressed. it's a good feeling knowing i'm in a heavy beast of a vehicle that so far is sticking to the road great. just a few more reasons i love my new ride.

Stabilitrak or traction control? If it is stabilitrak cutting in, you are probably driving way to aggessive for ice covered roads. Traction control is normal on ice/snow covered roads; it is designed to cut engine power and/or pulse the brakes to the wheel(s) that is spinning (opposite of ABS). Whereas stabilitrak pulses opposite brakes to keep you straight.

I was out dinking around in the snow and ice last weekend, and it was definitely stabilitrack. BUT, that was only when I was trying to get it to spin out to see what it felt like, getting used to how it drives in the slush. And you could feel it pull the rig back straight.

Pretty cool stuff, I'm glad I know it's there, but I sure hope I never have to use it for real...

I would recommend everyone who has never driven a vehicle with a active handling system to do the same. Get the feel, so you won't panic, and let the vehicle do what it does quite well.

Now that we finally have a real winter in Pennsylvania, I have been out playing in the H3. Despite intentional slides, etc. I have yet to see the Stablitrack light kick on.

What must you do to get the system to automaticaly engage? Barrel rolls?

Go into the slide with the throttle pressed.
