So why does say the Ram 1500 that gets, per their specs, worse city and highway mileage have a 2 point higher Green Score than the H2

Just a guess but it's prolly a hemi. The V8 Hemi actually puts out almost zero hydrocarbons. It's even far less than the V6 version of the truck.

Did not know. That would probably explain it, thanks.

The govt. is doing their own mileage estimates for vehicles. The other numbers have been based on statistics and variables from back in the 70's when all interstates were 55mph. They will be based on current speed restrictions and realistic driving methods. Anyway, I think the numbers will be way different from the ones on the stickers currently. Something like that, heard it today. Here is a link:

When I push it up to 65, it's still okay, but when I go to 75 (in other states) the mileage drops drastically. The exact numbers are confidential. If I told ya, I'd have to kill ya. However, the time saved by traveling at these speeds is well worth the reduced gas mileage, IMO. I also know that it's STILL cheaper than flying, and in "less populated" States, flying and driving aren't even comparable. Not everyone lives 30 miles from work. In Montana, I know people travel across the State from Billings to Missoula, and they wouldn't have a speed limit if it wasn't forced on them. They need their Trucks with them. Flying isn't an option, and neither is driving some tiny little NO Horsepower Rice Burner for a car.

I can only hope the new EPA numbers will make states like Oregon see the light, and raise the damn speed limit. It's not saving any gas!
