So my sunroof wouldn't close and I took it in to the dealer. While I was there I complained about the sporatic nature of the mirrors folding in, and asked them to check it out. I also asked them to use black mirrors if they had to replace them. Not only did they replace the WHOLE sunroof, but they gave me new side views off an '06. I really wanted to get rid of the chrome ones! I guess that extended warranty just keeps paying off!

Can you get one after it's already off regular warranty?

Ya, had the same problem with my 03, they would work every now an then, so brought it to dealer and called extended warranty company, the warranty company showed up at the dealer and both mirrors happen to work while he was there so he wouldn't cover. Got a $65.00 bill from the dealer for their wasted time. Oh and yes I did get a prior ok from warranty company to replace them, I guess they changed their mind at my expense. They said they won't warranty till they don't work at all. Lesson learned

So do they make black 06 mirrors? Its not clear to me if the 06 replacements you got were black or chrome.
