I was wondering if any one had any experience with this tire carrier. I like the fact that it can be removed if need be by lifting off on the rotation point.
Here is the link:

I haven't seen this one yet. Never heard of "Fabtech" either. I do like the fact that you can remove it, but since I would find the lock/key annoying after a while (and I wouldn't want to leave it unlocked all the time), I'd prefer to have a firmly attached carrier. Just my 2c.

Leaving it unlocked would leave it vulnerable, but who would acctually think to pick it up and off the hinge to steal it? I would think it was securly attached if i had seen it and didn't know otherwise. The price seems in line with all the other manufactures that are sold on ebay. I just wish i knew the fit and ease of use, or if it will freeze up or not.

Where did you see Fabtech? Fabtech is a well-known company that has been making lift kits and suspension components for quite a while.

Follow the link above to ebay auction for the tire carrier.
this is said in the auction:
Because of the factory-made tire carrier's tendency to rattle, many dealers are choosing to offer stronger-built and more convenient tire carriers like this one made by Fabtech Manufacturing.

Something sounds fishy. They say they are the manufacturer but say the unit is made by Fabtech.
Even says custom cad designed...blah blah blah.

I don't know what happenned to the post I made regarding this tire carrier...but, here is another. I purchased this exact carrier from same Ebay seller. It works, but it started rusting the day it went on. I rattles already albeit not much. It does serve the function it advertises though.
