Tie Wear ??
2004 H2 with 27,000 miles. Both front tires are worn on the very inside edge about 2 inches. Pressure is fine as I keep an eye on it. No problems with steering, as I can let go of the wheel and it runs straight as an arrow. No front end slop (pitman arm, tie rod ends, etc.) so can not beleive I need a front end alignment. So, other than a front end alignment, any ideas???? How much does a FEA cost??

Re: Tie Wear ??
Stock tires...everything? I wouldn't suspect something to be rubbing.

Yes, all stock. Origional tires, shocks. etc. No mod's whatsoever. No damage, or abuse.

Re: Tie Wear ??
What is the rotation history of the tires?
How many miles between rotations?
I have found that most vehicles need to have the tires rotated every 6K miles or so.

Re: Tie Wear ??
Caster Camber adjustment .if you just turn the T bars up 2 turns you will have a stiffer ride and they won't wear the inside any more. if it were me I would crank the T bars 1 turn and than get an alignment.

Re: Tie Wear ??
the T bars go's from the lower a arm to a cross member about 3 feet back there is a big bolt faceing down .turn it clock wise .there are 2 T bars do both. this should also raise the ride hight in the front 3/4 to 1 inch . with the cost of tires being what they are an alignment at $50.00 is something you should consider.

Re: Tie Wear ??
had similar problem on my 07 H2-sut at 5000km on the front. shop claimed the alinment was out and replaced both tires and rims and included a front end alinment. now at 27000km the wear is not as bad but still too excessive for the km's.

Re: Tie Wear ??
Just so you know if off road your vehicle and are rough on it you will need an alignment a couple times a year,if you off road and go easy you could go a couple years without it going out . as parts wear you will be doing it at a greater rate. many things come into play . oversize tires and after market rims with a diff offset can also play hell with the suspension . all in all if your parts are not worn and you don't do anything stupid an alignment should be checked once a year and you should be fine.

Re: Tie Wear ??
Almost all 03-05 H2's are slightly out of alignment from what I've seen. If you rotate your tires every 6,000 miles and get an alignment, you will see your tire life improve greatly. On vehicles that we rotate the tires regulary and had an alignment before 15,000 miles, we've seen tires go well over 50,000 miles.

Re: Tie Wear ??
I thought it went without saying that you should rotate your tires, anyone over 18 should already know that .
