Left keys inside h2
Today my brother's h2 was having a problem with the key stuck in ignition, he used the other set of keys to lock the car.
Then he went there, opened the car, popped the hood, and disconnected the battery to do a reset, after connecting it, it locked all the doors automatically, and he also left the other set of keys inside it, with the door closed. Lol.
So, both sets of keys are inside the h2, and it's locked. The hood is open.
He has a viper alarm system in the car, don't know if it matters.
Is there a way to unlock the doors from the opened hood?

Re: Left keys inside h2
If OnStar is active he can have a signal sent to unlock the doors. Otherwise, use a slim jim.
Funny that he locked BOTH sets of keys in the H2. LOL

Re: Left keys inside h2
Sounds like its a great time to upgrade the ****ty plastic door handle buckets to billet!!
You said he has a viper alarm... I'm assuming its keyless entry. The factory keyfobs will still work w/ the viper. I'm sure you are not carrying around both keyfobs on the same chain.
The rod you want is vertical, needs to be pulled straight up. Facing the driversside door, its to the right edge of the window glass/track. Its what connects to the outside door handle.
If you can't get that, you can jam a screwdriver through the plastic bucket and have that door open in 20 seconds...

I live in Portugal, we don't have onstar here.
Key stuck in ignition problem is also solved, my brother had someone take care of it, they put a screw under the steering wheel pressing the button, they left it there, so now it will never happen again.
Regards

Re: Left keys inside h2
Or you could fix the broken wire at the interlock switch on the transmission shift control

Onstar service is through Verizon cell towers. There are lots of stories of people's Onstar service being out of range which means Onstar is dead, too.

ON Star is Cell phone based and if you do not get good cell service in a area you do not get On Star.
In rural areas we do not have any service as luck would have it since it is when you need it most. ~Richard
