Third row for H3?
Do any H3's have a third row seat? Or is there an after market option for one? I have been looking at online photos, and I don't find many that show the rear area.
I currently drive a GMC Envoy XL with the third row. I have four kids, so I need the extra seat. I like the Envoy, but I really wish it had better off road ability. It does very well, but it has no ground clearence at all. And the front and rear go all the way to the ground, so approach and departure angles are pretty much hopeless.
Besides, I would love to have a Hummer if there is any way we could fit in one.
Thanks.

Re: Third row for H3?
No, the H3 doesn't have a third row, and as far as I know, nobody makes an aftermarket seat (not that you'd want one anyway, since the seating has to be securely bolted and it would be tight back there)
The H2 does have third row seating however.

Re: Third row for H3?
I thought about a third row for hauling my midgets around, but they said there wasn't enough room......

Re: Third row for H3?
Yeah, I guess even if you put one back there it would kill any cargo space. I guess I'll just wait a couple more years and find a nice H2 to upgrade to. They are just a bit too much $$ right now. We are trying to buy a house so I'll just have to be content for awhile.
We just had one kid too many!

Re: Third row for H3?
Hmmm. That looks quite interesting. I may have to consider that. Looks like there is a fair amount of leg space even.

Re: Third row for H3?
I have two little passenger seats mounted facing the rear. My kids that ride in the third row are 10 (very tall for her age) and 11 (a little shorter than average). I anticipate that this arrangement will work for about another year before I'll have to buy a bigger vehicle.
When configured as just a single side facing seat, even my hulking 13-year old can ride back in the third row. Being a 13-year old male, he has a natural tendency to slouch, though. There is a limit, however. I'm 6'3, and there is no way that I can ride back there due to constraints in both headroom and legroom.
Regarding the seat quality, they are fantastic. The fabric exactly matches that of the rest of my truck. The huge steel plate bracket on which the two seats are mounted actually has the "H3" logo stenciled out via CNC machine.

Re: Third row for H3?
Thanks for that. My youngest is just turning three, so that could actually work for quite awhile.
At the moment we are getting ready to buy our first house, but I think after this ordeal is over I am going to start looking around at switching from our Envoy to an H3.

I forgot who it was on one of the HUMMER forum, but someone did buy that seat and installed it. ...same issue as you. ...one tow many kids
You could always throw a low profile roof rack up top for added cargo space OR if you don;t like that look you could put a Yakima box up there to store your extra gear. IMO, your Envoy has more room than our H3's do. There are lift kits out there...as I'm sure you already looked into, but costly to lift that truck.
What kind of budget are you looking to spend on a truck/ after the house deal of course!!!??? I think you's be better off with an H2 with that size family...esp. if you're the outdoors type that is going to haul the kids bikes or camping gear around. There are pleanty of used H2's out there in the mid to high 20K's...you just have to keep your eyes open.
Maybe post up what you'd be looking for and one of the members may chime in when they run accross something.
good luck,
Tim.
