Supercharger fun
I'm not sure why it took me so long to install one of these, primarily bucks, but I am having more fun than ever. Recently added the Volant air intake (really liked the clean lines), so now my engine work is complete for the moment. This week, I had the QTP electronic cutouts installed and I nearly scared the you know what out of my neighbor when I was testing them...Quite a nice noise. He kiddingly threatened to report me to the home owners association..I know some of you have had a bad experience with the QTP product, but so far so good..

0-60 4.2 sec..standing start qtr mile 125..ha ha, gotcha..Haven't really tried it yet. But it's no slouch,I'll tell you that..With 37's all around, it's not going to break any records, but I will tell you the front end stands up when you hit it, regardless. BRUTE

Re: Supercharger fun
Yeah I know. You can feel the power, just kind of makes it difficult to shoot the 7k lb carcus down the road very fast. Lots of torque

Re: Supercharger fun
Hey is your motor the 6 or the 6.2?
how many PSI are you using?
Not that these were designed to be good on gas, but after adding a supercharger how do you find it on gas? that is of course after regularly testing the new toy out lol
i'm looking to do one on my 6.2 2008 just before i pull the trigger curious on these things ...

Re: Supercharger fun
LOL...WOW.
This thread is 6 years old...I don't think any of those dudes are even around here anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if he ripped his tranny out romping around with that setup. From what I've read it's too much for the 4L65E...they need to be beefed up or swapped to the 4L80.
Your's is a 6L80E and I've not heard of any problems with those as it relates to a supercharger.

Re: Supercharger fun
I try to look through the old threads before asking questions already answered 10000000 times
I'm considering adding the TVS1900 or the TVS2300 to my H2. The shop that i'm looking at using has done many of both to the corvettes and escalades (can't remember if he said he's done a hummer, but escalade is the same drive train). Said those guys have been BEATING the Crap outta theirs and no tranny problems at all
the difference between the two is one is 7 PSI and the other is 10 PSI.
I am curious if the gas consumption will be worse, but really with this SUV can't see it getting worse LOL ... I have found the 6.2 with that 6 speed tranny is much better on gas then the 6.0 with 4 speed.. I owned a 2003 and now the 2008, well worth the change!

I think there's a 'potential' for some minimal fuel savings...but as you increase the performance the 'potential' of gettin' up in the gas also increases. Those two tend to cancel each other out...lol.
6.2 and the 6L80 are definitely a more appropriate combination for a truck this size (IMO) since they didn't wanna give us a Duramax/Allison out the door.
Good luck...

I agree that they should have started the beast with the duramax/allison set up and the option to put into 2wd also would i think made the sales of these machines hand over fist more.. but what do we know? we're just the buyer's with pipe dreams
I was reading up on the range rovers and seems that under the same driving the supercharged set up does better on fuel... of course if you are enjoying that get up and go there won't be much in the way of savings...
but thinking if it can move the beast out of the start on everyday driving and the down the highway easier needing less fuel would be worth it for everyday use. and then when you want to show off the power, hold tight! Also making it worth it lol
