I'm going today to purchase a black H3 adventure pack from a local dealer that has one on a truck enroute. I've got a couple of questions before I buy.
Can the XM option be removed as well as the price of the option?
What is a reasonable price for the front light markers, over the header? Can they do that at the dealer?
and, Aside from getting mud flaps to keep chips off the back fender, has anyone "line x'd" a portion of the fender? I wonder how well it would hold up?
Thanks guys and gals. I cant wait to get this ride. If the price is right...

Oh yea, one more question. Do I need to get the dealer roof rack to add the aftermarket roof basket or does it come with it's own mounting towers? thanks again.

You can remove the XM module from the vehicle but the dealer isn't likely to do that to save you a few bucks. You might get them to drop the price by the $350 that it lists at but it would cost them to remove it and drop the since they still have to pay for it.

Yes, line-x has been done on the fenders and grill. Search the site with the find button above and you will find pics of it. I would have to say, it came out great.

Depends on the aftermarket roof rack. Some come with their own mounting hardware and others use the factory cross bows.

Mud flaps...

They are mini parachutes eating up gas mileage

How well will they hold up when off-roading?

I would lean more towards the spray on protection. I beleive ther is a company which makes a clear, transparent version.

On the topic of "XM option to be removed as well as the price of the option". Leave the H3 radio physically alone. Just negotiate a $350 discount if that's what you want. The XM radio is something you will eventually want to use, and certainly the next owner of your H3 will appreciate.

How about adding XM to the base radio? Is there something I can buy?

Vandakeg, you can have mine for 400bucks. kidding. i think i'll keep it for the resale as others have stated. It's a black, cloth int., adventure pack, heavy towing auto trans with sunroof. wish it had the monsoon, but i'll survive. thanks for the input. i'm gonna look up the line x route for the gill and fenders. i've seen the grill and think GM should offer the body color grill as an option.
Anyone got this "full coat" thing? 400bucks for an exterior "coat", interior coat and an under coat. sounds like one of those things fairly unesasary.
thanks again for the insight.

Dealer would not only have to physically remove the XM module (easy to do), but would have to reprogram the BCM, since the XM is part of the serial data bus to prevent any codes being displayed. The BCM would miss the XM module (not to worry, it won't cry ), and set a code stating the module is malfunctioning.

Don't recall for sure but I believe that all H3 stereos are XM compatible. If this is the case, you can get the Terk GM Direct Connect XM. I got mine through Amazon last week for about $165 shipped. Very easy to hook up and works great on my Monsoon system. I was somewhat pissed mine didn't have the XM module at first but in the long run I saved about $200
