The air pressure in the tires should be checked on a cold tire, which is a tire that has not been driven in at least three hours. In addition, make sure the sun is not shining on the tires. Direct sunlight can increase a tire pressure by 1-2 psi.
Best time is early in the AM, on a cloudy day.
Living here in MI, the cloudy days are common, as I am finding out. I usually check mine twice a month on Saturday or Sunday.

Has anybody had their low tire warning light up? I checked the tire pressure on all four and they seem to be fine. It has been raining here in the SF bay area. Did that have something to do w/ it. The warning light is off now - no more rain. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
I have learned to keep mine at about 40 psi, no warning light since.
