Default Manticore Billet Products (SUT)

Hey everyone.... I need a little help.. I bought the Manticore Tailgate Billet Handle and Bucket replacement... and I am not that happy...

If anyone has ever done this before, you have to remove the factory black plastic door bucket which has 4 clips holding the unit to the tailgate...

Then according to Manticore, you just remove the one side of the pre applied 3m tape, and stick the new billet unit on in place of the factory one.... Seems simple right? Well evidentely, Manticore did no R&D when they were making this product because of the following...

#1 Billet is HEAVY
#2 3M tape won't hold super heavy items

Due to this, the damn unit stays on, until I either hit a bump, go offroad, or even close the tailgate from the open position... then it just falls off, gets another dent, and makes me feel like a douche bag for paying the money that I did for this unit.

On the back of the bucket, it DOES have a hole (no threads) in place where the factory clips and such were on the factory unit... I was wondering if anyone had experienced my problem or anything similar and might have any suggestions and or fixes.

In addition, I REALLY like the look of the Manticore SUT tail light guards, BUT from their pics, and lack of install directions on their site, I fear that these units will also go on with 3M tape, which in my mind is highly overrated for anything other than a simple "HUMMER" emblem or anything over 1 lb.

If anyone has any other companies that make a similar or better engineered product, I would appreciate the info. If you are curious about either of the parts I am talking about, you can see them on

www.manticoreusa.com

Thanks!

Matt,
Did you degrease and clean the area with alcohol before applying? Once it falls off you should re-clean the area and replace the tape. Auto shops sell mounting glue and/or tapes that should be able to hold that sucker on. You might also want to check if you were supposed to get mounting clips with your product.
I know how you feel I've bought and returned a lot of items that use tape to secure it to the truck. Good luck.

If I remember right, you drill into your existing taillights in order to mount the manticore taillight guards.
