Going off roading
I have noticed some of you have mentioned taking these off road. Is that true?
How do you justify taking these things off-road, I mean, don't you think it is rather expensive breaking stuff over and over again?
I am thinking of my H2 as an investment and believe me, I saved many a pretty penny to get it. I am not taking in somewhere in the heeby jeeby woods to scratch it or ruin the systems to kaput.
Why not get some old beater to go out in the wilderness?

Re: Going off roading
An investment? Motor vehicles are not investments.
I am also on some bike forums (HD and BMW) and always get a kick out of people who advertise a vehicle for sale with statements like "$40,000 invested, will sell for $20,000.
Not a very good investment, was it?
Where are all these "investors" at when I have something for sale?
Maybe they could be "Boobs". (Just a thought)

Re: Going off roading
Harry, A motorhome is a huge investment- would you choose not to use it because it could be devalued? Why would you buy a state of the art off-road vehicle, and not take it off road? I would warn you not to drive it at all if you are worried about the value. When your warranty is up it will just be another peice of crap that you are ready to trade in on something newer. It seams a shame not to have ever experienced the intent of the vehicle. You will probably move on to something else and tell your buddys that driving a Hummer is like driving any other SUV. That just wrong. Enjoy your ride!

Why are you talking about Ted Kennedy? Is he on this forum? I highly doubt that he drives a Hummer or would be schlepping with boobs like you.

Re: Going off roading
I agree with Harry. I keep my wife in the basement with a controlled temperature and humidity level. She sits with my fine cigars and wine. Hopefully, she will stll be hot when i let her out in 5 - 10 years. I have a hard time looking at the cigars and wine, that will be worth a lot of money one day, without smoking/drinking them. But I am a very smart man and I know that indulging in any fun will ruin my wife and the items in the basement.
P.S. I have a 1978 Ford Pinto with 3,000 miles on it if anyone is intersted in buying it.

That must have been a great "investment."

If you weren't such a cheap, curmudgeonly, covetous, balding, liposuctioning bi!tch, might you understand why I'm such a devoted member of this forum?
