I'm not much nto home sound stuff but, I saw a Bose 321 system that had surround and DVD player i think. Could someone elaborate on this system. I do not care to spend allot but, do not want wires eveywhere. So wireless and cheap is the ticket for Me.
I will have invested in A/V etc. in My H2 in this one shot than I have spent My whole life on A/V stuff. Fortunately some was spnsored.
But I would appreciate some guidance on this. We are having Our first annual show, Shine, and swap Meet this weekend in Conway, Ar.
I would ask Dragon but, He is really running in circles getting everything setup. I would be helping but, had to have a wisdome tooth pulled with just alittle novacane as i wanted to be alert to jump up and drive off.
Well i will not make that mistake again. Not horrible but, enough pain worth getting knocked out and having someone drive you home. so i'm setting on My Butt and Dragon is having to handle it all. Fortunately He has done this stuff or been around it allot so i would most likely get in the way.
If anyone is not to far away from Conway, AR. on I-40 We are just a few minutes off the freeway. I mean really just minutes.
If You think You may come let Me know so i can tell Dragon.

Taz,
Sorry, but I do not have any experience with the Bose 321 system but have always had great luck with the Bose line. I used to sell Bose for a while and if you know anyone that sells them you can probably save yourself a lot of money. Bose sets the retail price for their equipment and dealers are not allowed to sway from that price at all. At least that is how it used to be. If there was a sale price on Bose it was because they set the price. If you know anyone that is a dealer and can buy them for you at cost it could mean an upgrade for you. I know the last set I bought, 10 years ago, retailed about $700 and I paid 10% over cost at about $350 if I remember correctly. Worth checking around, good luck.

Thanks HummerNewbie
I looked and read a little more about the Bose 321. It is a primarily a DVD wireless surround sound home theater type thing. It only uses one speaker in the center under or near the TV and 2 others speakers with no wires. that is what I'm really looking for right now is a home entertainment center is what it is called I guess. I just want it wireless.
If anyone has any good ideas but, low end wireless suggestions I would appreciate it.
I'm serious when i say I have put more into the H2 A/V stuff than i have spent in 15 years total on home stuff.

TAZ, I'm just like you in that respect. I'll pay cash for my cars but haven't spent a dime on home entertainment. My wife had to beg me for a new TV after 12 years of marriage. I was too cheap to get a flat panel so I got her a 36" Sony flat screen. **** that thing is heavy!
As for the BOSE 3-2-1, my friend has one and the only issue, although significant, is that the DVD player does not work well. The sound is fine (to my untrained ears) but who cares when the DVD is crappy.

Have they gone down hill in the past 5 years or so? I am a trained audio engineer and was always happy with them though I would never use them for my main speakers. I am by no means saying they were anywhere near the best but good non the less, pretty good. I haven't had any in years but was happy with what I did have.

Don't listen to Dan he is a retard.
We have a Bose clock radio thingy in the bedroom and I like it, I turn it up and I can hear it all the way in the shower.
We also have one in the poker room with a cd player and it is nice as well.
Doesn't the Hummer come with Bose equip. anyway? If so it would only seem appropriate to continue the trend. But I don't know anything about that stuff.
Taz, did they use a drill? If so, it may take 4-5 days to recover to somewhat normal. Ice on 20 min. and off 20 min. for the first 24 hours and stick with cold to lukewarm soft foods, pudding, ice cream, yogurt are also good for coating your stomach if you are taking pain meds and then apply moist heat (wet a wash cloth, ring it out, fold it up, and microwave for 30 sec.) stick to soups, mashed potatoes etc.., never go back to ice. Rinse with salt water the second day- after meals and before bed, but just roll it around and let it fall out- don't forcefully swish. Be sure you don't create any suction in your mouth (no straws)for 5 days, it would lift and jolt the blot clot- and in turn could cause dry socket.

Bose is to speakers what Ford Mustang GT's are to sports cars. The people that own them think they're the best sh*t out there. They seem blind to the fact there are 100's of options that are higher quality and better in every way possible for the same price.
If you choose to buy Bose look on Ebay. You can see the depreciation listed there in swarms.

In addition to the H2 sound system, we own two other Bose products.
The sound-cancelling headphones are great when flying. We also own a Bose L1 that's used to amplify the steel drums in our music room.
Both products perform better than expected and both came with a satisfaction guarantee (45 days on the L1) so I imagine the system you're looking at would, too.
BRB...
Yup, it does.

Not being a smartass but did you ever listen to any other brand of speaker? The people that I see that buy Bose do so because they think it's "cool" and the "best". Little do they know. My speaker cables cost more that their entire Bose system.
Bose = overexaggerated mids, shrieking ear piercing (when turned high) highs and a complete lack of any low end bass.
Back before I got involved in Audio I had a bose system as well and thought it was the ****. That was until I went to an experienced home theater place in Vegas while my truck was getting worked on next door. Had a long conversation with the engineer there. He showed me how a mid priced pair of Boston Acoustic speakers killed the Bose in every aspect. I wound up giving them away to my brother in law.

You in Vegas?
I hear you on the Bose branding/marketing. Most things are like that, though -- buy what's obvious, be happy with it and then if you care to dig and develop expertise, you discover a whole other world is available. I still remember the first time someone told me MD20/20 was bad wine. I was shocked!
I'll keep your advice in mind when and if we ever decide to buy a theatre or sound system for the house. Good input.

Didn't take it as being a smart ass. Yes, I have listened to many different speakers and as I mentioned, I don't have any now and would not use them as my main speakers. Hell, I used to use studio monitors as my computer speakers. For the applications that I have used them in the past they have been great. Also as I mentioned, they are no where near the best. If you can get them at cost rather than retail like I was telling Taz, there isn't much of anything that can touch them for the price. Granted, things could have changed on the pricing and quality since I had them. I definitely agree that many people that buy them think they are the absolute best possible speakers and have blind brand loyalty. They think that if it isn't Bose, it is sh!t, just like many Jeep owners when it comes to vehicles Just my 2 cents.

I used to live in Laughlin and I drove up there to have some Boston Acoustic speakers put in my truck. While I waited they had a separate Home Theater place next door and just rapped with the sales/engineer guy there. The guy knew a TON. It was a learning experience that's for sure.
I can't remember the name of the place. Executive something quite possibly. I just looked on Yahoo and didn't find it. I know they did all of Andre Agassi's rides and had pics of them. This was also seven years ago.
Yeah when it comes to home audio there's a ton of options and like you said it all depends on how deep you wanna dig. I caught the bug and dug deep. Maybe a tad too deep. My love now is the Nautilus line of B&W. My family room has all in-wall B&W with boxes custom built within the walls. My family room was basically built around my home theater.
If you decide to ever delve into HT just make sure to do your own research. I've found that even some semi high-end stores have a lack of knowledge of what really works together and what definitely does not (like bright speakers and bright amplifiers). And some other high-end stores are a lil too narrow sighted with the brands they carry and dismiss all others. I could go on forever. Feel free to ping me with any questions if you ever go that route, that applies to anyone.

LOL I almost made the Jeep reference in my first post but decided not to.
I agree completely that the Bose speakers do fit some applications. For those that don't want to spend too much and want some clean sound. Just don't expect the full home theater experience. Or any high quality sound at any decent level for that matter. Also retail price like you said is too much. You'll find them on Ebay for less than half the price.

I just couldn't pass up on the Jeep reference
Sounds like you have a sweet theater setup. I have never spent that much on my theater, but used to spend way to much on my rides. Used to run Boston Acoustic and Oz Audio in my cars and loved them both. A friend just spent about $25K on his new theater and it sounds incredible. I can't remember the brand but the speaker come from Canada. Go figure, the Canadians can build something good

Thanks for everyone's advice on sound.
C0-pilot They told Me very few of what You told Me so I'm very greatful to You for looking out for Me.
They actualy pulled and no drills. I had broke off the back half and when He got started the top half just broke off. Then He used these litle ice pick looking tools and just kept popping on the pieces till it all came out.
Thank You for telling Me these things. I use straws all the time. I did just out of common sense I guess just brush teeth up to the hole and used listerine very lighting. I guess a blind hog finds a root every now and then.
