Default Rear Leafspring Mount Squeek

Yes, I know I only have leaf springs in the rear... I have been having some pretty bad squeeks coming from my rear leaf springs. Wondering if anyone else has same problem. Some days it's terrible and some days it doesnt happen at all. Sux, when I roll through a parking lot and it squeeks like an old cadillac...I am sick of people staring at me wondering why Hummer makes a squeeky product. WTFO? Anyone?

Guess what, we all only have leaf springs in the rear. Get under there and clean the thing and grease it up. I dont think there are zerk fittings there so you'll have to improvise. Inspect the bushinds too while your at it. I squeak after I have palyed in the mud and dirt too.

Yes, I know they are only in the rear...It was a joke, thanks for clarification. The squeek is still going on after I took to dealer for a cleaning and lube. There are no Zerk fittings so I would assume they just sprayed some WD-40 in the crack. Just wondering if others had this problem.

Off Road More often!

Can you tell if it is the rubber bushings in the spring eyes or from the leaves rubbing against each other?

Crawl underneath and have somebody jump on the rear bumper. If you can locate where the noise is comming from spray it with silicone spray!

ha sorry brother. sorry its hard to get sarcasm on the forum. Desert presents a good point as far a metal rubbbing. Also I think sometimes the dealers will tell you they did something special and not do anything. I would do a good once over yourself. I also would go with something other then WD-40. It might affect bushings negatively. It will displace water, but not lube it for extended time. I dont have it so bad that it bothers me like you are describing, but it does occur and I just slap on some grease and I use a little injector deal I have to get it in there.

It's called "Trail Creak"... those of us that are addicted to wheelin' know that it can be a debilitating affliction... we hang our heads in shame as we travel about town... but.... I have learned.... to accept my condition and wear it like a badge of honor....No longer will I avoid bumps in the road, No longer will I use the parking space closest to the road... I'm proud of the fact that I wheel, and DAMN the rest...

Seriously, beyond rebuilding the leaf springs not alot you can do about it.

aflax24, I am in the same squeaky situation. Were any of these suggestions successful in any type of success?

Question Re: Rear Leafspring Mount Squeek

Do you have the rear shock mount skid plates? I have them and I wheel and it creeks back there. As mentioned above, proud of it; just lube it.
