SUT Big News...
I was looking through some old posts and found a pic of the old prototype Can-Back tonneau cover. Just for the hell of it I googled "Can-Back" and found their new website. I called the 1800 # and spoke to a gentleman named Brian. He told me that the reason the prototype never went into production was because the former owners of "Can-Back" dumped a lot of money into the H2 SUT design after GM gave them the impression that they would also market the product. Next thing Can-Back knew, GM was out soliciting bids from other manufacturers for a simular design. Can-Back got pissed at GM and backed off of production of that product completely. The company Can-Back was sold shortly there after.
Now the good news...
Brian told me that while the new owners of Can-Back never intended on releasing the SUT cover, they can't help but notice that SUT owners keep calling about trying to purchase the product. He told me that if he could get 20 orders or more he would strongly consider releasing the cover. The Can-Back web site is http://www.can-back.com/ and Brian told me to have those who are interested log into the website and leave a comment in the comments section. The web site is very simple and leaving a comment is self explanitory.
I really like the look of the cover and would order one if it were available. So if you guys are still interested leave a comment on the site and I'm going to call Brian in one week to find out what kind of feedback he's recieved. I also attatched a pic of the cover for those who have no idea what I'm talking about...

Re: SUT Big News...
That's great info, but I can't help feeling something less expensive will be available in the not to far off future.

Only problem I see with the Can back, it is not optimal for camping purposes your feet will be hanging out in the breeze, rain, snow and cold. Unless you are a midget. It looks nice though.

Re: SUT Big News...
Ken,
We never went as far as to discuss pricing. I'm sure pricing will have somenthing to do with how much demand their is for the item. I hope your right about the other products coming out soon... but if your even slightly interested you should post something in the comments section of your website.

Re: SUT Big News...
I put my name on the list.
Looks like a better alternative than the Avalanche tent.
Although a bit more expensive.

Re: SUT Big News...
One more name on the list. They said they need 20-30 names to start production on it.

Not if you open the midgate! It would make totally enclosed camping a possibility.
