Heater Fan Fuse
Anyone know what else might be on the fuse that runs the heat/AC fan? My fan stopped working last night. Everything else seems to be working, so just trying to find out if it's a fuse or a fan.
Or perhaps what fuse it is?
I did a search here and didn't find anything except 1 post.
My owners manual is buried in a box somewhere. (I just moved and have not unpacked. Need to do some remodeling before I unpack)
I looked at the fuses and without taking everyone out, I cant tell if any one has burned out.
thx.

Re: Heater Fan Fuse
Was the fuse blown? If so you may want to have a look at the connector at the resistor(module nowadays) located right beside the fan. If you see any signs of excessive heat or the connector is melted you will want to swap out the resistor and possibly the connector if damaged.

Re: Heater Fan Fuse
Thx Tech -
Brought it into dealer. They said it was a similar thing, some over heating of a resistor (I think), or relay. Although I could hear the relay click when turing fan to high (#4) setting. They didn't need to replace any wiring, but said sometimes that have to.
So for now, all set. I have heat.

Re: Heater Fan Fuse
Same problem here and now. Fuses were great, relays worked fine ( Iswapped them around to test since they're all the same) So I went under the dash and unscrewed the blower transistor (2 screws) and took it out. The 1st Orange wire shows signs of burning inside the resistor and on the connector as well. Local auto parts store have a price for it of $25.89 but said I can't order it, it's gotta be bought from the dealer. Hopefully it wont be too marked up. Say Hippy, what did they charge you to fix it if you don't mind me asking?
It's a 10-20 minute job unless wires need splicing, then maybe an hour. Worse thing was bending over backwards to fix it...but i'm in my 40's. You younger guys-n-gals will have no problem taking on this DIY.

Re: Heater Fan Fuse
A/C fan blower not working issue:
I finished the task in under an hour. Total cost at dealership for the parts was $77. The blower resistor was $43. The harness connector was $5 and the replacement connector tips each sold separately for $4.80/5 $24 total. plus $5 tax. Simple fix and I recommend everyone with an '06 or '07 H3 just go take a look at the inside of the harness connector to check for signs of heat/burn and preemptively attack this potential problem. Especially since a simple google search for the symptoms of this problem reveals many have experienced it.
