Recently - Some Mother%$#$#$%!@!! Broke into my H2 and trashed it. Stole everything and I am trying to fix it all. The only piece I need is the overhead plastic housing ONLY that houses the lights and 3-button remote with sunroof control button. If anyone has made a mod or replaced theirs, and can sell it to me - I would be eternally grateful. Still in shock and trying to move on... Some people suck - Anyone know any - Great alarm systems for the h2 - a recommendations would be great too..
Thanks!

Damn, that's sucks. Sorry about your baby getting trashed. What exactly did they do? Any pics?
But most importantly- any clues?

There are some manufacturers that make a film (like window tinting) you have installed on your windows. Keeps someone from simply "popping" the glass and easily getting in.
How did they get in?
If you have part number for the trim piece you can probably get it cheap from gmpartsdirect.com

Sorry to hear about that LI. Thinking about the pics, they would make great fodder for the H2 haters.
What did they take out of it? Did you have some sort of fancy stereo in it?
Good luck.

Wow, pretty bold. I've had a couple cars broken into & stuff stolen. It's an awful feeling. I still get a pit in my stomach thinking about it. Get your rig fixed up and try to forget about it. Get a nice alarm too.
Check into your homeowners insurance. Mine paid for the stereo stolen out of my driveway. Reimbursement helps.

I don't believe in alarms anymore. I had one of mine broken into several years ago, great alarm but no one paid attention. There was even a parking lot guard with a golf cart and he didn't go check it out when the alarm went off. He and the owners of the place said that car alarms go off all of the time and are more of nuisance than anything. Talk about pissed. Not only the feeling of someone invading you but then to add insult to injury.
Insurance paid for everything but it still makes you feel violated.

Search for threads about the Viper alarm. I've had mine for two months now and it's great. I wanted a remote start and when I did some research, found the Viper 791XV which has the remote start and alarm system, both have two way feedback to the responder remote--up to about 2500 feet, and it will tell you if you are too far away. It will also tell you which sensor was triggered. You can get more info on it or find the nearest dealer at www.directed.com.

Long Island H2 Guy,
I believe you are talking about the overhead console. You can not buy seperate components for that. They only sell it as an entire unit. The part number for the overhead console for an H2 with a sunroof is 15065809 and the list price is $1,001.60. I don't know of anything on the market people would replace this with, so your only shot at getting one reasonably priced would be out of a wreck in a junkyard. Otherwise you are going to have to spring for it or turn it in to your Insurance Co.

LI, best protection going forward is try watch where you park and have the right insurance coverage. Don't rack your brain over what kind of alarm to buy because they really don't matter. For example, one techique the pros do is drive up, smash your window, reach in pop the hood and drive away in 5 seconds flat. Most times no one pays attention and the alarm eventually stops. Then they come back 1 hour later, lift the hood and disconnect your alarm and it's all theirs to do what they please. Even though car theft devices have gotten sophisticatged over the years, savvy pros will always get around them uncaught.
I've been pretty lucky with cars including the H2 over the years. I leave my H2 in the streets quite a bit and purposely keep all "toys" out of site. I also park as close as I can to busy intersections.
And if my time comes, that's what insurance is for.
Hang in there and good luck finding the overhead console. Sounds like Spike has one option.

I have the Python 881XP and love it. I live in a rural area and even in the local towns I am sure no one would ignore the alarm.
Possibly one of the few bebefits of living in BFE

Sorry to hear about your break-in.
I too have had my baby broken into.
They stole all my hunting gear, all my gun clips, my shooting bag, my dvd player, my headrest monitors, my brand new cabelas boots, and cut up my seats. The insurance covered most of it, but it still does not make me feel any better.
I do not have any faith in alarm systems anymore. The only reason I would get another alarm, would be for the convenience of remote start.
I believe the only way of protecting your property is thru home defense.
The intimidation factor is always a good one.
Try and get to know as many kids in your neighborhood, and let them know that your vehicle is being randomly monitored all night long by an armed person.
Play a game of "is tonite the night that he is watching?".
Even if it is younger children you talk with, they have older brothers, or older friends.
Make friends with all your neighbors, and keep an eye out for each other.
Fortunatly for me. I have a neighbor that works the night shift, and he is up all night, on his days off. He is my sentinal.
I keep an eye on his house, when I am not working.
Good luck...
