I had Lingenfelter install a Maganacharger on my H2 a few months back and can't find my maintenance instructions - anything I should be doing on a regular basis? Thanks, Rick

I do that too often. My H2 started acting up today, it doesn't seem to want to shift into a higher gear when going 50+/-. I noticed is seemed my Magnacharger started detonating prematurely about a week ago. With just barely any pedal the rpms would surge. Any suggestions or ideas what it could be?

Yep, I had a knock also. The dealer determined it was the SC. We sent it to Mag who said nothing was wrong, but they replaced the bearings anyway and wanted me to pay for it (Yeah, right ). After getting it back I got a knock again. This time it was determined it was the timing. LPE sent me a new programmer with everything updated and things have been great since. It even pulls harder over 80.

I spoke with Lingenfelter this morning and it sounds as if I have a bad transmission. They failed to inform me of the likely necessity of rebuilding the transmission when you install a Magnacharger on the H2. They told me due to the weight of the H2, it is a necessity.

I suppose my H2 is headed back to Lingenfelter.

I have had my Magnacharger installed for approximately 30,000 miles and have no transmissions problems.

Rick what year is Your H2? My dealer is installing My Magnacharger and as a favor they are checking to see if my sun cage and planetary gears are the newer harden ones, if not they are changing. They are looking at putting the Corvette vacuum sensor, Oh I forget what it's called now. many of the guys have recommened it on this forum and the Dealer is doing it. I asked them about kitting it and they said no need to with a few mods and when it is tuned increase line pressure so it does not slip much. One key to helping the tranny to survive is to take torque managment out and make the sucker shift as hard as You can by increasing the line pressure. The weight of the vehicle should never have been set with a tranny that has a wimp shift. But, there are many that have stock tranny and have had no problem. I have been running My 05 as hard as I can sometimes with all the addons I could get but, set it to shift as hard as an old John Deere 4640 tractor with injector pump turned max up.
Well LPE builds as good a tranny as there is. I know of another place but their price is the same as LPE so I would go with LPE. I'm surprised they did not offer You a tranny up grade. I have not heard of anyone they did not offer it to. It is an their website etc. Just surprised they are very good as one of Our Buddies on here knows them and I think helped with a prototype for H2. I may be wrong on the prototype. But. thought He did anyway.
Good Luck
TAZ (Rick) also
Off to Ump 12 and under fast pitch softball. I got hit by 2 foul balls last night that My left shoulder is still swollen a little. Who could of figured this little girls could swing a bat so hard. Some almost swing all the way around when they do. It is fun everyone should go out and watch these kids. The little girls are more competive than the little boys at the same age. it is funny.

RDKJ:

To answer your first question. There is no maintenance required on the Mag SC itself.

Did Lingenfelter do the install?

You problem sound like one of programming, not transmission, although I have little info from your posts.

An upgraded transmission is nice BUT not a must and if you are having detonation, stop driving it! You will heat it up and damage the engine with detonation.

Who porgrammed the SC for you and why are they not looking at that programming?????

Although, I would have thought a problem with the trans programming would have been detected sooner.

Thanks for the advice. After speaking with Tim at Lingenfelter, he is almost sure that it is a transmission problem, which according to him is fairly common in H2s considering the weight of the vehicle.

I have not driven the vehicle for several days, mostly because I can't go faster than 40 mph. It seems the vehicle will not upshift.

My H2 is on it's way back to Lingfelter tomorrow for several weeks of vacation. I wonder what other fun stuff they can do to it while it is visiting Decatur? Any suggestions? They've already done the Magnacharger, Yank torque upgrade, Brembo rotors.

On the brightside, I suppose I'll be stuck driving my new Lexus hybrid. There's nothing wrong with a 260 hp vehicle that gets 30 mpg.

Thanks again,
Rick
