Wasn't that just a total destruction of a nice rig?

Why?

They are more tuned to the "lowered" scene being that they were CTL Motorsports.

Try www.trailduty.com and get a FABTECH. I hear that the guy who owns Trailduty.com is a forum memeber.

They are good suspensions but I am looking for a chrome type for shows. They are second on my list if I cant find what I want. I can always Powder Coat.

You can always have the parts chromed.

Phil:

Thanks for the plug. We do a lot of show type lifts that function well too.

I like the Bulletproof kits over the FTS kits now.
The Pink Hummer had a 12" BP. BP makes a great 6" kit too.

The Fabtech can also be chromed and powdercoated----each lift depends on its intended use. All of them can be modified here and there as well.

We are doing an 8" Fabtach on a Ford F-250 soon but are using King Shocks and crossover streering and some modifiefd traction bars. It will look great and function great.

Everything with lifts depends on needs and budget.

My Black H2 has the BP 12" with chrome and powdercoating. It has shi..ty tires right now. I need the Toyo MT's---same as on the Pink Hummer but they are $3100.00---waiting for a Toyo sponsorship that is in negotiation--then I will get them. Toyo's 40 x 15.5 x 20 or 22 are the only tires to have with a big lift.

Also the tires on it now are only 14.0 wide and too thin for the height of the Hummer.

They were not available when I did the Black so I have bias Trxus---they are worthless on this Hummer because you need a radial not a bias tire.

Rear of Hummer--BTW VIP does not make lift kits so they will never have a 6".

This H2 will be at HGW night on April 15 in NJ. The flyer on here got deleted.
My Yellow will be in Nashville for the ARCA and Busch races.

Hi HWG,

This is somewhere where I would want to be (with the lift). In the interest of fairness I spoke with VIP and right they dont make lift kits they order them and chrome them as do most others. I am told that BP doesn't require modification of the diffs (not sure about FT)... What items are included in the BP kit? Do they maintain the orginal trailing arms? Orginal pinion angles etc. I am uncertain about BP design engineering. so I still have issues that I would need to settle. I know they seem to be one of the best recommended for "shows" OTOH FT has a good reputation and seems to be popular here for the hardcore offroader.

On the 12" kit, both driveshafts have to be lenghtened. On the 6" kit, neither have to be lenghtened--just a new CV joint installed up front.

Where do you live? If in CA, no doubt that VIP can do the job. Manny has been doing these lifts a long time. From the work I have seen, they do it well.

You can maintain the origional trailing arms but I would not do so. I like to stiffen them when over 6" in height.

I like the SMA ones but they are gone. We still use them, grabbing them where we can and then we will have them made. Other companies make good trailing arms too.

FTS makes a great kit--have one on my Yellow H2---I like the service at BP better, that's all.

I like the FTS anti compression struts and use them with the BP kit. I also use their tubular track bar, which is very strong and sharp looking as well.

More later on what is included in the kit. Note that I use King shocks with 1" diameter shafts and 2.5" cans, not the Fox Shock sticks that are offered with the base kit.

In this pic, I also increased the diameter of the drivesahft since I had them made from scratch--the front one too.

I PM'd you with my cell number--will be happy to answer your Q's.

Those TA's will work well with your lift.
