drive train upgrades?
So now that the new esculade and denalies are out with the 6.3 ltr motor and 6 speed autos do you guys think that GM will decide to stick that motor in the H2. The current motor is a 6.0 with 325hp@5200 rpms and 365lbtq@4000 rpms with is ok but i have that same set up in a 2500 truck that im sure weights less than H2 and it's not impressive at all...
Anyway i was thinking if they went to the new 6.2 motor that would bump the power to 380hp@5500 and 417lbtq@4400... But with the new gears for that 6 speed auto it gives you a lot lower first gear and a taller over drive. Think of it as gears between gears.
I couldn't find the gear info on line, maybe of you can....

Re: drive train upgrades?
I think we are all hoping for the diesel engine, not another gas V8 with even worse mileage.

Just Imagine the amount of Gas powered H2's that will be placed up for sale in the marketplace when the Diesel comes out...talk about depreciation!

The new Tahoe/Denali engines are Displacement on Demand (DOD) and get better mileage.

Re: drive train upgrades?
well interms of motor size going from 6.0 to a 6.2 liter is not going to be that big of a difference. Its the internals and heads that make up the new power. Im not sure if the DOD works on those or not. However with the extra torque and gears in the transmission you might actully get better mileage because you will not have the dead spot feeling at certain rpms...

I think the 6.2 engine would be great, but the diesel would fit the function and brand better. Diesel electric, though, would be most awesome! You could pull a building down or crawl at .00006mph.
