Hello again, just trying to get an idea on what is the best look for the new H3. For those of you that are changing the wheels are you considering the offroad smaller wheels and larger tires, or larger wheels (say 22" or 24's)?
I am trying to make up my mind... HHHHMMMMMMMM
Also anyone know what will fit as far as the tire sizes for sure? I mean with 22 or 24" wheels and or 18s or 20s with the larger tires...
Thank you
Paul

I'd love to put some 18" or 20" wheels with 35" tires, however, I'm really worried about the engine performance already, with the stock rims and tires the engine performance is just *ok*, not *great* as I'd like it to be, I can't imagine how it would be with bigger rims and bigger tires... besides, I don't think that anything bigger than 33" tires would fit in the front, you'd have to install a suspension lift kit that is not available yet.

305/35/24
Overall tire height: 32.4"
Think this tire would work?

With the standard tires at 32 inches, and the optional off-road tires at 33, 32.4 doesn't sound like it'd cause you much structural/performance trouble.

Hummer Guy, can you look and see if a 35x12.50 tire would fit without a lift?
I am more concerned about the turning and rubbing than anything from what I have seen so far.

you will probably be able to level the front end by cranking the torsion bars a few turns. I got about 3" on my Tahoe by doing this. If 33" are on it stock, I imagine 35" wont be a huge step up.

I lifted my Isuzu Trooper about 2" using the torsion bars and the ride was SO STIFF after that... I had no other option so I had to leave it that way if I wanted to fit 32" tires. I think it would be the same for the H3, that's why I will just wait for Rancho or someone else to come up with a lift kit.

Mudrucker...
It is supposed to be higher in the rear to allow for a level ride when loaded or trailering.
Also if you jack up the front with the torsion bars you will limit downward wheel travel since you would be closer to the bumpstops!
