If your body control module is Fu*ked up ,the dealer is your only way to get the existing system to work . an aftermarket DEI /Viper alarm is a better way to go ,and cheaper .the factory alarm blows. as far as the key 03 and 04 H2's have no chip in the key ,so you can get a new one cut cheap .if you lost the key the dealer can cut one from the VIN# and if you buy the remote from the dealer he will program it free with tech2 . Chevy dealers can do this also .

I got one for cheap (around $30 I think) for my 04 from Ebay and it included a key blank that I had made into a spare at Ace Hardware.

I also got one on eBay for an '05 H2 for $20 and it included a blank key and a website to program the remote. It was simple, about a 30 second process. Remote works great no problems so far, been about 4 months. Only grip is arming/dis-arming distance is not far enough for me. I assume a new battery can fix the problem.
