Re: hey, those of you in washington
Drove right by Evans Creek entrance last weekend when we went camping on Carbon Glacier. It is about an hour from Issaquah so not bad at all. We have had so much snow still that some areas are still not accessible. I am out all next week but would love to go the weekend of the 10th. Let me know how this date sounds to you guys.

Re: hey, those of you in washington
It is North of CleElum WA. I think about 1.5 hours East of Seattle. The trails are great! Challenging but not crazy - there are also alternatives throughout if you really want to go for it.

Re: hey, those of you in washington
Sounds great! I could only come after the Hummer Homecoming, though. If you guys do go, please post pics and I'll plan a trip up in July.
I've driven the highway between Ellensburg and Wenatchee before. There is some beautiful country back there.

Re: hey, those of you in washington
Here is a link of the place WannabeH3 and I went last year outside of Ronald. Click on the "Salmon La Sac" links. Great stuff - I might go Sunday when I get back from Dallas and see how it looks (make sure the snow is gone) etc.
If anyone wants to go Sunday just let me know. We can plan a bigger trip later this month also.

Re: hey, those of you in washington
We could all meet at the gas station in Roslyn I think it is a Chevron but can't remember for sure. What time is good? I don't recommend filling up there just a convenient place to meet.
Here are directions to the trails -
From I-90 East take Hwy. 903 North exit 80 to Roslyn.
Past Roslyn 903 changes name to Salmon La Sac Road (just East of the lake). This is a nice two lane paved road with beautiful scenary.
It goes a while I think maybe 10 miles.
Name changes again to CleElum Valley Road but I never saw any signs of this change.
Any way, this road continues and drives into a little forest park.
There is a Y in the road and you go right on the Y. This is a gravel road that is fun and goes for a long way.
About 6.7 miles up this road you will turn to the right and enter the official legal marked trails.
There are several other trails that you can drive on but I am not sure if they are legal so I just stayed clear of those.
Sounds difficult but actually it was pretty easy to find.
