Rear Fender Removal
For all of you H3ers that have intentionally (yes - INTENTIONALLY ) removed your rear fenders for painting, chip proofing, or other mods, how'd ya do it? Which screws, blots, or bubble gum pieces did you unfasten tor emove the fenders?
Thx!

Re: Rear Fender Removal
First you need to remove the inner fender well.
There are retainers that you will need a medium sized flat head screwdriver to pop out the center of the retainer. The causes the body of the retainer to collapse so it can be removed.
When you have the liner out you can look up under neath and see the attachment area. Gently pull the fender away from the body. I used a long pair of needle nosed pliers that are curved at the end, to gently squeeze the clip which releases the fender. IIRC there are about 5 or 6 clips from front to back.
If you break a clip you can get them from the dealer, pretty cheap, HOWEVER, the rear clips come with a fender. Ask for the clips for the front fender, they work just fine for the rear too.

Re: Rear Fender Removal
One of the original H3 designes called for the fenders to be easily removed for offroading. Didn't quite make it into the final design.

Re: Rear Fender Removal
On a related note, are the bumper skirts all mounted using molded pressure clips like those that are easily seen on the underside of the rear bumper? Is the front skirt moutned in the same fashion or does it have different clips?
I have the brush guard, bumper guard, and tail light guards all Rhino coated and I bought the Duplicolor kit for the bumpers. I am doing the latter myself with a Textra roller and the Duplicolor kit. I have been testing applicators on sheet metal and the Textra will likely be the best for the main coating area, with a small foam roller for edging, etc. I'll pst pics soon....
I am still seeking advice on the durability of the Duplicolor product if anyone else has used it. I may also get underneath and do the metal parts prone to rust.
