Haven't yet taken delivery of my truck yet, but saw an H3 here in Yosemite Valley this afternoon that had a broken rear door handle (wish I had my camera at the time, but didn't). Upon closer look, the entire assembly of the rear handle appears to be plastic (not just the "appearance package" covering). Granted, the weight of the door is more than most SUVs due to the mounted tire; but has anybody experienced similar problems, and if so, have replacement alternatives / solutions? (Pardon if this was discussed in a previous thread . . . I'm relatively new to these Elcova forums). Thanks.

Handle asssembly is plastic, but have not read any problems with any of the handles (per warranty reports). Could be a number of reasons why it broke, from a handle that slipped through quality control to someone really giving it a pull, and the door was locked. I guess what I'm saying, is I would not worry about it.

Aren't almost all door handles actually plastic these days?

The rear passenger doors have a tendancy to freeze up when there is a lot of spray and freezing, mine has done it a few times. So when I went to let the dogs out of the back seat I had to pull pretty hard...since it was frozen. That is when I realized that the handles seem a little "light". I actually thought I was going to break one but I didn't. If it breaks fix it, it it doesn't then don't worry about it. I certainly wouldn't base a "buy" decision on it.

Would spraying silicon in the door handle assembly keep the mechanism from freezing?

Hello

Yes, right front passanger door handle broke (stationary part, not moving part)

Remember i'm in Miami, got cold here but no freezing...

They got the part in one day, good service.

The loaner 2006 Blazer was no H-3
