Default 2006 mirror cs 2008??? HELP!!

So my passenger mirror stopped adjusting side to side. I took it apart trying to see if I could fix or replace the motor. No luck. Only thing I can find on line is replacement motors for the 2008-2009 models. Looks like how the mirror attaches to the motor is different from 2006 model. SOOOO here is my question... Does anyone know if there are any other differences in these model year mirrors? My thought is to buy a replacement motor for a 2008 along with a replacement glass for a 2008 and bolt this into my 2006 housing. Just unsure if there is any mounting difference in the holes for the motor attachment points or if the pigtail for the motor is different. From the pics I see, it looks like these mirrors are the same housing. This would cost me about $130 vs buying a new mirror assembly.
