Has anyone painted their roof bars black? What is the best method to paint the roof bars? Powder coating? I though about rattle canning them and if that does not work out just bringing them to the powder coater. What do you all think. Thanks.

No I have not but that is a thought. How is it holding up? What is required to prep the surface for the duplicolor spray? Thanks.

My parents are in West Palm right now. They are picking up their boat's boom tomorrow that was powder coated. Do you want the info?

GM makes black roof crossrails. Most trucks
are ordered with the chrome appearance package
and have the bright ones. Why don't you try to find someone that has black and would prefer to trade?

Thanks for your replies.
KenP, thanks for the offer but I have spoken to a few powder coaters in Naples who are willing to do the job. Why are you selling your rig?
Hummertech, I placed a post in the classified section looking for someone to swap with and received no response so I decided to look into painting them black. I guess everyone is going to the blacked out look these days.
Thanks

I know I see every couple of weeks a H2 come in all tricked out with chrome, but has the black mirrors and black crossrails. People who obviously weren't thinking about that when they picked out there truck. So I know there are some people out there who would love to trade. I guess finding them is the trick.

Hummertech,
If any of those guys express interest in acquiring silver bars, let me know as I will be glad to make the swap. Thanks.
