Newbie
Hey guys, new to the forum. I'm thinking about buying either a H2 or a Jeep. I can't determine which one. I've heard a lot of great things from both. If I bought an H2 for the price -I'd hate to go off roading with it. It seems like you can buy a cheap Jeep and put a ton of parts on it for what you can buy an H2 for. Jeeps are also uncomfortable and bumpy rides. What are the pro's and cons?

Re: Newbie
The pro's are if you get an H2 you won't have to change your user name.

LOl, true
I've always loved H2's, I'm just thinking practicality.

Re: Newbie
Two completely different rigs: Hummer is luxurious, Jeep (I'm assuming your talking Wrangler) is a tin can on wheels. Both are capable off-road (some more than others). It comes down to what you like.
Judging by your user name, I think you've made the right decision!

Wranglers get crappy mileage (proportionally worse than H2). Thats not really practicle at all...

Re: Newbie
I'm also considering a Land Rover. My dad pretty much said I can pick whatever I want, its going to be a graduation present. I'm just looking for something that I can occasionally go off road in and not break anything.
My friend has a Jeep and he is always breaking something.

Re: Newbie
I want to keep it fairy inexpensive since I wasted a lot of his money already at school. But he says to get what I want so I've started pricing H2's already.
Going for a test drive this weekend. The dealership down the road has an "off road" course for you to test it out on. How cool is that?
What sort of things should I be looking for?

Jeeps are like that sometimes, but it's usually due to poor driving skills or some n00b making a poor deciison when he orderd it.
If love the Starbucks drive through, you might just want to cosider that LandRover.

Re: Newbie
I just don't want to be spending a lot of time in the garage. I've got more important things to do.
I like starbucks, what is the point?

Its a rhino and it made it up slickrock as well. Basically a gas powered golf cart on steriods (31" tires).
