RHD H3 impressions so far!
Hi guys !
finally got my rhd h3 this tuesday here in cyprus!
07 adv black auto.
unfortunately it arrived with the lux version tyres 265/75/16 cos apparently the bigger tyres do not comply with euro laws,it also had a silly wheely bar under the rear bumper(removed as soon as i went home)and extended wheel arches(which i think look good)
very impressed with the quality and drive of my h3,to be honest i was'nt expecting it to be that good!
now the bad things:
after only driving 200km no offroad yet,i start to hear a faint grinding noise coming from the front.
at 300km the grinding gets louder so decide to investicate.from what i can tell it is driveline related cos the frequency increases with road speed not engine speed,if i go to 4L the grinding is louder and quicker.
called the tech guy in the uk and told me to check oil level in the transfer case.did that and found it to be very low!!!
added some dextron as advised but noise is still there, checked all other oil levels as well and all were up to spec.
any advise or similar simptoms anyone?

Re: RHD H3 impressions so far!
Congratulations on your new truck!
If you check some other impressions here. Some others have had initial break in sounds from brakes for example. Monitor the problem if it if does not quiet bring to a qualified diagnostic center.
Good Luck

Re: RHD H3 impressions so far!
The passenger airbag light goes red when my girlfriend is sitting in the passenger seat. But she is 4'11" and is just over 100 pounds. Normally there is no light with other people.

Re: RHD H3 impressions so far!
so if i understand correctly when the airbag2(the one left of the rear dif lock button)is orange the airbag will not activate in an accident correct!
is this something i can reset myself?hope so cos our one dealer on the island has not received his diagnostic tools yet!
i did check the connectors under the seat after doing a search on the site but all seems well!
pls advise

Tell her it is unsafe for her to ride in the front or she'll have to sit in a child safety seat

Simple solution - stop hanging out at the local elementary school playground to pick up pre-teens sicko

The air bag is activated with the weight of the passenger, if they are not heavy enough it will not deploy so it will not harm children. My son is at the weight were it sometime will activate and sometimes not, he is about 75 lbs. To check it sit in the seat yourself it should be different, or not show the "airbag off" lamp. Hope that is clear!

Re: RHD H3 impressions so far!
I think its set for 75lbs
Maybe pop off the dash panel
(jusy stick your fingers in the accy outlet holes and tug/yank then work your way around)
see if its pluged in properly, check to see if any pins are bent ?

If your mate is more than 75 us lbs. it should say "on" meaning it will deploy if you have an accident. Maybe the indicators are different than ours. Take some pictures and post. You should have two different indicator lights, one for on, and one for off!

Re: RHD H3 impressions so far!
my wife is petite and it does not turn on for her either.
i believe the 75 pounds is for the weight that is actually on the seat, so someone over 75 pounds could potentially not activate it. (my wife is about 95 poounds.) <<< stoked!!!
to see if it is functional, simply turn the vehicle on and go over and sit your butt down on the passengers side. if the light still stays lit, take it in for the dealer to look at.
