Sounds like you had a less than satisfactory experience. Pray tell...

They couldn't get a rental, they couldn't find a tow truck, they couldn't get a technician. They finally TOOK MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER and found a tow truck and I spend $400.00.
My HUMMER has been in the shop for two weeks now.

Yikes, I guess you'll have some interesting comments for the after the sale surveys - of course, if they're monitoring this forum you might get excluded from the survey...
this ain't funny... hope this is the full extent of your troubles.

Well, the dealer has given me a Caddy until it's fixed, but there isn't even a date on when my new transfer case (there was a crack in the casing - no, never been off-road) will be shipped. The service department has been great, I'm disappointed that my $60K has been spent on very immature roadside and parts distribution.

Any ideas what caused the crack. I read of a couple of other H2s with cracked transfer cases somewhere on this or another forum. I wonder if this is becoming a common problem.
I hope you get your H2 back soon.

At least one was the case of a guy leaving Hollister and leaving his truck in 4-LO the entire ride home on the highway. I haven't heard of other failures, but then, I'm not omnipresent.
quote:
Originally posted by buddy:

Bill, Is there a table you can slam your fist on to get a solution? call Hummer directly? The right person in Hummer should be able to grab a transfer case in the plant and drive it to your dealership, that is CUSTOMER SERVICE, and it is not beyond the call of the duties. They got to give you that $400 back, right? This is nothing like that dude who got so upset about the snow chain, you got a serious defect here. Wonder why your dealer cannot get the job done. Have you spoke top person at the dealership, go the top Hummer man's name and phone numbers from the him/her? Sometimes bad guys win, nice guys wait in lines. Maybe its time to be the bad guy.

call Hummer directly,
Mac posted a number earlier (866-486-6376) that I called to inquire about expectations of dealer service, loaner car, priority (dealer said that H2s have priority over all other vehciles at the dealership as part of a deal with AM General), etc. The lady at Hummer that answered was extremely professional and it was clear that if I had any issues with the dealer (once I take possession of the H2)that they (Hummer) wanted to know ASAP.
Squeaky wheel gets greased - this should be used sparingly, however in your case BILL you should be screaming from the roof tops. At a minimum, you should have a date for completion of the repair. Then after you pick up your repaired H2, try that Krispy Kreme idea.
