Rear Liftgate Will Not Open on 2006 H2
Can anyone help me out with my rear liftgate problem? It was working fine this weekend and suddenly, it will not open. I've pulled the interior away enough to get my hand inside and can see the mechanism, but I can't figure out how to pop it open manually. I went to the dealership and they wanted to charge me an outrageous amount just to look at it and told me it would take most of the day. If I need a new lock mechanism, I can only imagine what they'll charge for that. When I push the key fob and unlock, I can hear the other doors unlock, but not the liftgate. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My 2008 had the same problem. It was the control module in the liftgate. It had to be replaced. It took most of one day. For me it was a warranty repair.

Thanks so much for your replies. The control assembly had gone bad. The dealership wanted to charge me an outrageous amount for the part and the labor to replace it. So I went online and found the part (parts.com) for a fraction of the dealer's price and I replaced it MYSELF today in less than an hour!!!! It works great and I feel very smart and skilled at the moment!

My 08 H2 has the same problem. The dealership wants $1200 to practically break the inner trim and control assembly and replace it. Can you elaborate how you repaired it at home. The retaining clips on the inner trim are at the bottom of the liftgate, I was told and hence not accessible when it is closed.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!!

Get in the back of the truck. Peel the door panel back from the area where it folds up to meet the glass. You can stick your arm down into the area between the door and the panel and either flip the latch to unlock the door or work the mechanism to open the door. The panel doesn't have to come off.
