H3 front receiver
I am looking for a front receiver for my H-3. Any suggestions from those who have one ? I have seen one that is just a square tube across the front that mounts behind the tow hooks , but can't find it anyplace.

Re: H3 front receiver
The best thing to do on an H3 is to buy a receiver, cut a square hole in bumper and weld it into the cross frame support that now comes equipped on 08+ H3s. The earlier H3s didn't have this cross member under the bumper but it will retrofit. I have seen this cross member on our 08 H3 but have not checked to see how strong it is. Worst case, a stronger one can be easily made or gussets can be added to the OEM brace. I would turn the the receiver tube so the hole is vertical like on the H2 so it would stay fairly flush up against the front end.

Re: H3 front receiver
uhhhm geeze thanks fourfourto......try a search, wish i'd thought of that!actually i've searched all over including this site. most everything out there mounts to the frame way to low for me, id have it drove into the mud or a rock first time out. what major tom was talking about sounded perfect. but if i cant find that i think i may have to try Tomp's method. by the way, thanks Tomp for the info about the 08 having the cross member. ill have to check one out. I def like the H2 set up
