Hummer in Bonaire
On a recent business trip to Bonaire I noticed an H2 parked in front of the clinic. It turns out, of the two doctors on the island, this one is owned by Dr.
Kelinjdk and is a 2007 SUT with the back seat removed and hangers on the ceiling for IVs and a nice medical kit in the covered bed. Dr. Kelinjdk was busy but gave me 15 minutes to talk Hummers and tell me he uses the H2 to get through the salt marshes, sand roads and homes on the windward side of the island. He bought it in Miami (although I noticed a Lynch decal on the back) and had it shipped and has been very happy with it. They're getting funding for a new 2009 H2 SUV and his wife wants an H3! He told me they don't even use the old Ford ambulance anymore, they use his H2. I noticed gasoline was $1.45 a liter or $2.98 US dollars a gallon. From my observation it's the only one of two Hummers on the island and stops traffic. This is an island where many people drive golf carts and Hondas are everywhere! If you're in Bonaire stop in with your Hummer pics and say hello at the clinic.

Re: Hummer in Bonaire
Not to offend, but it takes 3.875 liters to make a gallon. The price should then come to $5.62 a gallon. Still not bad compared to some places in the world.

Yep, you're right! I thought that was awfully cheap, although one of the world's largest refineries is next door in Curacao. I plead the fifth on being not up to speed on metrics.

Re: Hummer in Bonaire
Went diving in Bonaire in the early 70s when it was not very populated. Beautiful place with lots of flamingos and not many hotels or tourists then. Can't believe anything would get through those salt marhses, except for maybe an H1.
