Default Pissed of with TRAIL DUTY

I like to think that most of us on this forum have been excited to modify and upgrade our hummers.

This is how I felt this week after ordering The Trail Duty Hummer H3 Front Leveling Kit including: extended length Bilstein 5100 series shock aborbers and Trail Duty extended Bump Stops.

Eagerly awaiting my package through out the week and checking Fed EX tracking system just to see my shiny
new purchase getting closer and closer to my home. The day arrived that fed ex showed that it had been delivered. I anxiously awaited to get off of work at 11:30pm and go home and start installing.

Then all the happiness and sunshine was smothered out of my life when saw and open my package for trail duty.

There was no way shocks would fit in that small box.

I picked it up and shook it.

No way shocks would be that light in that small box.

(Can you see what I am getting at here?)

No F''ing Shocks.

Trail duty had left them out. I spent $230.00 for a box at 1" extended Bump Stops.

HOW CAN THIS OF HAPPENED. My life may be comming to an bitter end.

All with all drama aside, I am extremely pissed and had to vent. Hopefully 1 day I can post picks of my leveled hummer. Please keep me in your prayers.

You are on the shock list of prayer!

They probably ship direct from another source.

After my inital frustration with trail duty, they have redeemed themselves in my eyes.

Phil (From TRAIL DUTY) got back to me early this morning and informed me of my order status. I quess in my frustration last night and ripping open the box, that was shipped to me without shocks, I threw out the recept with all the filler paper. The shocks were shipped seperatly, and will be delivered today according to PHIL. I quess it said that on the recept.

MY BAD.

So hopefully if all goes well this weekend I will have new shocks intalled, with bump stops, tires, alignment, and a breaking in of the new suspension set up. Hopefully I will get some cool pics this weekend and finally post.

BIG THANKS to Phil from trail duty.

Grass Hopper out.

I'm looking forward to see how the installed kit turns out, because I'm more and more thinking about ordering the very same kit; I'm getting tired of non-level look, plus I guess I could get rid of some of the excessive nose dive when braking too? - and the kit is affordable... Is it hard to install BTW? With basic tools and basic skills?

The install was easy. No major problems other than I think the 1" bump stops are to long, even if you are lifting to 24.25" from center of axle to fender lip. there is no gap at all on level ground. I think the 1/2" stop would work better. I took the 3 out and poped a bump stop off under flex. So I put the factory one back on. A little nose drive but the shocks defenatly make up for it. Overall I am pleased.

Cool. Post some pics please.

I'm thinking to get that kit; well maybe with 1/2" bump stops. I guess that if I'd have any problem with the installation, I can always ask here about details. Does the kit have detailed installation instructions (because I'll definitely need them)?

Wow what a little drama queen...ive never heard of anything but RAVING fans of Trailduty and Phil.

I have had the pleasure of dealing with Trail Duty and it would be nice if every business was run with the service Phil's is.

You should definitely get this kit! The 1/2" bump stops are the right size to get, it leaves a little gap at normal ride height and greatly improves any body roll.

The bumpstops are pretty easy to install. You pry out the old stops, then use some soapy water (or just water) and work the new ones in. Make sure they are set on all sides.

The shocks are easy too. Remove the bolts holding the bottom of the shock, then the nut on top, and remove. You might have to manually compress the shock to remove it.

With the new shocks, use the bushing that come with it, don't reuse the old bushings. You will definitely have to compress the new shock to get it in place. You can do this by putting the threaded top in place and then pushing up on the shock. Try to have it close to where it goes. Once in place, tighten all hardware and enjoy.

thanks, excellent! I'm going to order the stuff. If I get stuck with the install I'll ask.

Boss you are right about everythin but the drama queen part. Trail duty has been great. Phil must never leave the computer because he gets back to emails within an hour even on sunday. He has been realy cool. All the other parts companys can take a lesson from trail duty. Great customer servise.

Trail duty rocks

h3 slate why do you state in your post to use the new hardware with rhe shocks and not the factory? The hole to mount the top of the shouck is way bigger and if you use the factory bushings it makes it so it wont move around. Reply on this so i can change them it your way is better.
